Flashback - Henry turns 1 video.

I just love this video so much but I was noticing as I uploaded a 15 month video that Henry's hair has grown so much!

I was in Starbucks for 10 minutes today with him and was approached 3 separate times by people telling me how adorable he is and how beautiful his red hair is!  He just smiles like a little charmer at these people.  If they thought he was adorable with a smile - they would go nuts for his laugh.

Here is a random album with some of Henry's early walking attempts in late December/early Jan I think. He's gotten a lot more confident with walking in the past 3 weeks - but still doesn't do it full-time. Also, I ordered Liberty these level 2 BOB books that have a story SHE CAN READ by sounding out simple words...amazon delivered them, we opened them, and she just started reading one! It was pretty amazing! It's not a great video, but I still wanted to capture her first attempt at reading a book solo - a pretty special moment for a parent I guess.

Pattern Fashion Show Singing Performance

I'm half embarrassed and half proud to post this. Liberty was a runway model, showing an outfit she had painted with a pattern on it...then the classes sang their pattern song. I realize my kid is drowning out every other singer - but in her defense, she was told to sing loudly and enthusiastically, and she sure followed directions!

Henry is 1 year old!!

He's an angel baby.

His favorite things:

• talking on a play phone
• dancing/singing with Elmo Rocks.
• Wrestling on a bed with Liberty
• Bottles - he doesn't do sippy cups as well as Liberty did at this age.
• Sounds - dog, cow, LION!, panting dog, airplane, car
• Foods - loves beans and tortilla soup (shredded chicken) and stick pretzles
• He really only signs "all done" - he prefers to squawk at us.
• Words - will say mama, dada if you really force him to - but he can totally say water (wawa!) and ball (ba!)
• First steps walking on 12/16 a bit after his birthday.  I write this on new years eve and he's taken 4 steps, stopped and taken 2 more - but then he collapses in a fit of giggles and prefers to be the fastest crawler we know.
• 7 teeth
• WEIGHS - 21.6 pounds LENGTH - 31.5 inches.
• Sleeps 7-7am, naps 9:30-11 and 1:30-3.

This album is video heavy - and they aren't that great and I can't figure out how to only post the best stuff....so for anyone other than Grandma, I'd just watch the first video because it's SUPER SUPER CUTE!

Breakfast with Santa

Liberty went on a date with daddy to have a pancake breakfast with Santa, do a craft, decorate some cookies and sit on Santa's lap. (Thanks City of Gilbert - all for $10? I love it). They had a blast and daddy actually took some pictures to capture the day so I could see what my girlfriend asked santa for! "I want a Castle with ALL the princesses...snow white, belle..." This album has another video in it that I cannot seem to get on the blog otherwise. It is Liberty watching Henry be changed (like she does for almost EVERY diaper change!) and she is telling him to "calm down Henry, it's me, big sister." I love this video.

Tea Party

I was invited to Liberty's tea party a few weeks back and it was (in her words) "a wonderful tea party" - she's gotten so funny about role playing and it reveals so much of what she's learning.  For example, I had no idea she knew what a "recipe" was but I learned from her that she does indeed and she was kind enough to share her "famous cranberry tea recipe" with me.  She was a kind host that was even concerned with cooling down the tea for Curly the poodle dog.  She was also cute in the fact she wanted to wear a special new dress (complete with tags) and a bracelet to the event. This is a long video probably only watchable to family at 4:35 minutes long.  So here is a picture for the more casual blog visitor:)

What Kind of Animal Quiz

Liberty loves our new little game we call "What kind of animal?" where I quiz her about things animals do - like "What kind of animal likes to eat honey?" - "A BEAR!".  Or in Liberty answering style "How about BEARS!" This video is 5 min long because she decided to go on some cute tangents about hummingbirds and Shamu...

Imagination

Liberty's favorite toy had really got her imagination going. I drop in on her playing in the playroom to ask her about what she's been working hard at: moving the human family out of the doll house and turning it into a dog/cat house. 4 min video... Liberty playing with her "new dogs and cats"

Liberty's great-uncle Thom sent her a CHEW CHEW train dining set for her birthday. It converts from a serious train to a cup and plate etc. for mealtime. She likes it a lot!

Our Little Raver

COLORS!

These past couple weeks Liberty has made huge strides in knowing her COLORS! She knows Blue, Pink, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Black and Brown - Red/Green are the most difficult for her. We've been doing a lot of art with paints/markers/crayons/chalk and I think this has helped with her colors.
