HALLOWEEN!!! Statue of Liberty

We had a very fun Halloween! I made Liberty a "Statue of Liberty" costume and we took her trick or treating to about 3 neighbors homes who we knew would want to see her. She also had her first taste of candy (sour twizzler) which she throughly enjoyed.

I know I should post the "best of the best" pictures for this blog - but honestly it is just easier to share our entire albums and I'm too worn out to do much editing (and can't bring myself to delete even the not so good pictures of my little angel). So forgive the 30 pictures and enjoy our LADY LIBERTY!

Carving our Pumpkin

Halloween is my least favorite holiday - but this year things are looking up. For one, my child is amused by everything - including pumpkin goop and posing for pictures with her daddy:)

Visit with Ann McCarthy and Liberty's First Purse

I use to babysit Ann's 4 kids - going on vacation with them and also flying out to visit a couple times once they moved to Connecticut. Ann is one of those special life-long friends and I'd do anything for her children. So it was really nice to see her face again and have her meet MY baby. We met up while she happened to be in Phoenix and Stacey (another babysitter and friend of mine) and her newest addition Tobee (3 weeks older than Liberty) came too! It was great to catch up and Liberty was a social butterfly despite it being way past nap time - she fell asleep 30 seconds after we hugged Ann goodbye - before we made it to the car:) Ann got Liberty a gift - her 1st Purse, which she loves!

Pumpkin Patch with Helsels

We went to the Desert Botanical Garden's GREAT PUMPKIN PATCH FESTIVAL along with Liberty's Aunt Kelly, Uncle Doug and Cousin Charlie! We went in the Monarch butterfly exhibit (1,000+ butterflies!), rode the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, picked our pumpkin and really enjoyed the day! A few funny things that happened: Cameron put the baby sunscreen on himself (don't recommend it), a random lady asked to take a picture of Liberty at the pumpkin patch and Charlie was more interested in the water bowls than the petting zoo animals.
Fun time had by all!

First Tooth and more...

6.5 months old = 1st tooth has cut through! She hadn't been acting any different except 1 thing: Usually the champion napper - for 2 days in a row during her first nap she woke up after 30 minutes and cried! This was so strange since she never cries! So I popped my finger in her mouth to check her gums and sure enough - the beginnings of her first tooth was poking through:) Her naps are back on track thankfully. She doesn't seem to mind the new tooth too much but she has started sucking in on her bottom lip right over the tooth and do new things with her tongue so we know she feels it!

Liberty is also very much enjoying her highchair, the jumperoo and sitting on her playmat. Here are some pictures from our days together.

6 months old

This post is a little tardy...but for those of you tracking my beautiful daughter - here are your Dr. apt stats!

Weight: 19 pounds 7.5 ounces (95th percentile)
Height: 28.25 inches (99th percentile!)
No teeth yet.
Sleeping: 7:30pm-8:00am and 2 naps (1.5 hours long)
She got her first cold last week.

Dr. Z said she's measuring like an 11 month old!?!?! Dear God. Liberty is a growing girl - she can sit independently, and has started scooting (inchworm crawl) - and a few times she has gotten up on all fours and rocked back and forth...so crawling is right around the corner for us. I'm excited one minute and sabotaging her the next - stop growing up baby girl! Or at least slow down please, I'm having so much fun with you just the way you are!

Isn't she so so so pretty?

These are a few of my favorite things....

San Francisco Family Trip

Liberty took her first plane ride to San Francisco! Liberty got to meet her Great Granddad before his hip replacement surgery. The bionic GGdad is going strong! We love visiting San Francisco - staying with Uncle Thom is always a highlight. We also visited during Fleet Week so we went over to Crissy Field to watch the Air Show and Blue Angels preform. We got to hang out with Andy who has moved to Walnut Creek right outside of SF...we miss him alot. Liberty loves her Uncle Andy:) Grandma Jo and Grandpa Ted even watched Liberty so I could go into the city and ride cable cars to my hearts desire. Liberty traveled well and has zero 'stranger anxiety' yet - so she just lights up when she sees new faces. She was great on the plane despite a 2 hour delay returning home. However she is very into 'shouting' with her high pitched voice for the fun of it. So I can't say she was a total angel on the plane - but passengers thought it was amusing/cute.

Grandma Jo and Grandpa Ted = LOVE!

Don't you just love this picture of Liberty with her adoring Wyatt Grandparents? She had a ball with them in San Francisco - more pictures to come soon:)

Oktoberfest in Tucson

Each Oktoberfest we try to spend with Two-Dad in Tucson - listening to Polka records, eating brats and admiring his yard. Liberty was only 2 months old the last time we visited Two-Dad, Aunt Mimi, and Aunt Nancy (GREAT Aunts now I guess) - so it was really nice to visit as a 6 month old - she just loves everybody. It was a really nice day trip and I got to see my mom too! Bonus!
